Most of us find it hard to wake up early in the morning. We find ourselves pressing the snooze button multiple times. There are times when we drag ourselves out of the bed just to start our day. Do you want to find better ways of waking up? Here are some tips on how you can elegantly wake up in the morning:
Get a Better Alarm Clock
No one wants to wake up to the harsh wake-up call of an alarm clock. It’s important to choose an alarm clock that is loud enough to wake you up yet not too loud as to frighten you. The best bedside clock is something that has enough alarm volume for you to hear and one that you can easily turn off.
Do Some Stretching
You have been lying down all night and even moving in and out of weird sleeping positions and your muscles may have cramped. Help your body easy into movement by doing some stretching:
- Start by elongating every limb as much as you can and stretch long while lying down.
- Slowly rise up to a seated position in your bed. Gently stretch your arms and neck.
- Turn slowly and place your feet into the ground and really feel the connection with the floor.
- Slowly rise up to standing position, stretching your arms up to the ceiling and stand on your toes then lower your feet back down. Next, steadily lower your upper body over the bottom half basically folding yourself in half (this gets the blood moving towards your head) then slowly stand up.
Open the Windows
The stale stagnant air in your bedroom needs refreshing and you can do that by opening a window. If the weather is too cold, then you can open it for a few minutes. The fresh morning air will fill your room with lots of oxygen. The fresh air will do wonders for your body and mood.
The long hours of sleep can cause your body to get dehydrated. You haven’t had a drink in hours, and you might be quite thirsty. Rehydrate with a glass of water upon waking up.
Hit the Shower
Your body has been flushing out toxins internally as you sleep, and your skin needs detoxifying too. It is best to get rid of the sweat and bacteria you accumulated overnight. If your skin can handle some scrubbing, then use a loofah or body brush while taking a shower. This not only exfoliates your skin, but it also perks you up by getting your circulation going. Make most of your shower routine by thinking about happy thoughts and exciting things you want to achieve.
It’s a well-known fact that a good night’s sleep is vital for optimum performance. Waking up on the right side of the bed is equally important. Avoid waking up to a harsh alarm. Selecting the best bedside clock will ensure that you always wake up refreshed and ready to start your day.
